Driving ethical AI innovation
Why does inclusive clinical data lead to better AI?
For Artificial Intelligence to be effective, it has to be trained on the populations it’s designed to serve. In the United States, only 5% of the patient population has access to digital pathology. And, unfortunately, under-resourced communities are often the last groups to have access to these kinds of innovations.
We can change that. To support and accelerate access to digital pathology, the Digital Diagnostic Foundation securely connects pharmaceutical and AI companies with anonymized patient image and EHR data through the DDx Data Aggregation Network.
Connecting Patients to Precision Therapy
DDx Foundation digital hubs standardize and integrate patients’ pathology data with clinical data. This data provides a necessary connection for each patient to access the analytics that will guide them to the therapy tailored to their needs. Currently, only a few high-resource locations offer this level of connected care.
Accelerating Clinical Trial Enrollment
Clinical trials are costly, often limited to large academic centers. DDx digital hubs connect community clinics to clinical trial sites, helping more patients access trials close to home.
Patient-Protected Data Sharing
In the process of providing digital histology services for patients in numerous community care settings, DDx is able to aggregate large amounts of data in standardized formats. For example, DDx has aggregated more than 2 million prostate biopsy images from hundreds of clinical sites globally.
