The Genito-Urinary Integrated Data Exchange
We have made tremendous progress in the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer. Today, our challenge is to target the therapy to the person and his disease. For personalized medicine to become a reality, we need to improve the ways we share clinical data.
The DDx Foundation is launching the GUIDE initiative to streamline the exchange of clinical data and bio-specimens between private and public sectors of healthcare. Collaborative hospitals and clinics in California, Colorado and Utah are piloting the project. Bridging the data-sharing divide will accelerate progress in prostate cancer care. Proceeds from the Sand Hollow Charity Cup will fund the initiative.
The Digital Diagnostics (DDx) Foundation has brought together a national network of prostate cancer care providers from community practices and hospitals, all of whom are committed to establishing a better system for exchanging patients’ clinical specimens and data. Aligning the clinical and research interests of prostate cancer care-givers with key Health IT industry partners, the Foundation is establishing the GenitoUrinary Integrated Data Exchange (GUIDE).
GUIDE brings hospital and community-based urology practices together with Health IT industry partners to establish a single standard protocol to securely share patients’ data and bio-materials, both for better clinical care and to accelerate progress in future prostate cancer treatments.
Charity Cup Event
The Sand Hollow Charity Cup is an annual Ryder Cup style charity golf competition, which this year coincides with the 2021 American Urological Association meeting in Las Vegas. Proceeds from the event benefit The DDx Foundation, as it launches the GUIDE initiative, a next-generation biobank, to provide prostate cancer researchers with streamlined access to the critical data they need to find cures.
Participants team with alumni from the Las Vegas Raiders (NFL) and Utah Jazz (NBA) organizations, competing alongside physician-researchers and major corporate sponsors from the insurance and healthcare world.
